Michael is a seasoned and mission-focused professional with 22 years of fundraising, capacity building and executive experience at international and U.S. domestic organizations.

He is the Founder and President at MICHAEL PANKOW CONSULTING, LLC a private consultancy practice designed to work with organizations of all sizes experiencing managed change/growth situations. He also provides philanthropic advisory, management and portfolio development services to individual philanthropists, private and public foundations, and corporations.

 

Current and previous clients include, JASA,  NAMI NJ, citiesRISE, The Nest Foundation, #Stroke of Genius, Force Blue, Peace Direct , and Geneva Global.

 

Michael previously served as the founding Director of the Art of Dying Institute and Director, Institutional Advancement at the New York Open Center. Prior to the Open Center, Michael worked with Strong Minds, Village Health Works, HIV Law Project, Human Rights Watch, NYU Downtown Hospital, and the Michigan Humanities Council.

Michael lives in New Jersey with his wife and two daughters. He researches, writes about, and engages in the art of resilience at the individual and social level. In addition, he is a practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu - a physio-philosophy and energy healing art that empowers people to heal and 'Know Thy Self.'
